I loved The Selction, and I read Maxon and America's story, so I really wanted to read this one about their daughter, Eadlyn. It was kind of boring, though. Eadlyn complained a lot and acted like a brat, while Maxon seemed to have grown into some boring, old king, and America was like a quiet robot. They both seemed to have lost their personalities. The Heir Is a romantic story about who can win the heart of Eadlyn Schreave, the spoiled princess of Illea. Basically, she thinks everyone has to do her bidding and treats everyone like she doesn't care about their feelings. But, I do think that Maxon and America weren't either when they forced her to go through the Selection. I couldn't believe it. I mean, America was forced to do it, against her will, and Maxon had a controlling father, so I thought they would understand. BUT NO! They only remembered they found love. Eadlyn clearly doesn't want to marry anyone, and she has a lot of pressure on her, as well. It was filled with a lot of Eadlyn's complaints and bland dates. There was no fire or anything interesting. I give this a 3
