I found the film highly entertaining. The principal actors were terrific and the English style dance piece at the end was impressive. On the negative side, the ending was understandably predictable, but the writer and director had obviously been forced to do some artificial sleight of hand tactics to produce a slight twist at the end. But it sort of worked and is very watchable. This is the first romantic film with this level of Western-style effortless sophistication I’ve seen coming out of Bollywood that turned out to be actually better than anything in this genre produced by Hollywood for a very long time. Indeed, the level of sophistication and departure from the usual Indian culturally embedded formulation was very welcome. It is refreshing to see films such as this coming out of India. Things are definitely looking up…
