Stella and Shell by L. S. Lentz is by far one of the best children’s books I’ve read with my 5 year old son. Its sweet and charming language along with beautiful illustrations help convey the message of how we can find friendship in the most unlikely companions. As the reader watches Stella transition to a new home, we also see how she goes about the often daunting task of making new friends. She never gives up hope and curiosity, and she finally finds a lifelong friend in Shell despite all their differences. Great characters, wonderful story for children and all!!
