An absolute masterpiece! If ya didn't know what you signed up for maybe you found a way to be disappointed? This movie shunts so hard! It's absolutely amazing. Most movies that shunt this hard have very little to say or get confused about how to say it. Not "The Substance"... Oh no. It's messages about the vessel you occupy and loving yourself are profound and SO well stated and it SHUNTS!! If you have any love for the masters of body horror this is a must watch! 11/10 SPOILER FOR THE ENDING!! After we finished it I said to my wife "I couldn't help but want her to just be all fucked up on the floor and the ending to have been her just melting into herself." And then I says "Oh shit! Maybe that's exactly how it did end." 🤔
