This game's biggest fault is trying to convey the whole scale of Dai's adventure plot.
Once that story mode is out of the way ( clocking a few hours in) the game opens up with challenging fights you can face with whatever tools you prefer. It's no spoiler saying that you have access to 6 different playstyles, which can be customized to an extent to exploit different strengths or synergies.
It's not for everyone but if you can get past the slow start you have a fun and replayable action game.
