This is a great show! It seems like a straightforward slice of life sitcom that young children could enjoy, but it’s a little deeper than that. Kotaro is a four year old kid who lives on his own and ends up befriending his strange neighbors. Theirs korino a mangaka bum, mitsuki who is a female “entertainer” at a club, and tamaru an old “anime punk” that has limited visitations with his son. The rapport between these characters is great and leads to plenty of comedy but the show takes quite a few dark turns as we learn more and more about kotaro’s tragic past. The show has definitely earned its tv-14 rating and I want to let anyone who’s dealt with abuse or neglect know this show can be triggering and gets DEEPLY emotional!
