An hour into this "horror film" there are only two deaths, with number three on the way (only the 2nd death is spooky). Flies are everywhere. In fact, they used flies buzzing to signal that something spooky is going to happen. And they kept forgetting it was supposed to be 3D so occasionally, because they forgot, they would stick things in your face - because it's 3D. Sigh...this film was not good. I've seen the first two, and both the 2005 remake and "The Awakening" - this is the worst and can be forgotten.
What's it about you ask? Two magazine reporters expose a scam being run from the haunted house, and one of them decided to buy it - just because he wants to get away from his soon-to-be ex-wife (who, for some reason, doesn't want him to leave their house - while they are divorced??). Meanwhile, his writing partner uncovers some spooky shenanigans and is killed by the demon spirit and blah blah blah.
Also, he has a daughter who is in danger from said spook. If that sounds interesting, it because I was being very generous in my synopsis. This film is a bore. Bluughh!
Disclaimer: I haven't finished watching the film yet. I have 25 minutes left and it seems they'll leave the good bits for last. That is NOT a good sign..My rating stays.
