I’m disappointed that John didn’t write more about his fellow countrymen during his tenure in London. The Irish helped each other when they were down on their luck but more times than not those debts were never repaid. Maybe the author never experienced that but I have and it certainly leaves you disappointed in your own people who have been underdogs for a long time. When you betray someone you know well…. it is irreparable.
