More sfx than deep character analysis, yes, but that’s not really a criticism of a film of this genre. Mythic characters aren’t all about nuance. (Responding here to a couple of reviews I’ve seen.) Fast paced, fun, beautiful imagery and costumes… epic in every sense. I’m looking forward to II and III.
