For those that didn't actually get the plot. The spirit found busola's household, probably promised the father wealth and healing. He was to persuade busola to accept the young man, as he was seen and heard talking while alone and was indifferent when the wife and daughter claimed his healing was a miracle. He hit his wife because she was trying to prevent the process. The movie is a great one.
