For someone who has read and watched The Hate U Give, Concrete Rose was a great book I read within the space of a week. The book grasps well on the events prior towards THUG, and really develops well. When reading Concrete Rose it made me get a lot of ‘Ohhhhs and Ahhs’ and definitely laughs as I now understand the back story behind THUG. I 100% recommend this book; and if you haven’t already read The Hate U Give first before reading Concrete Rose so you properly know the story behind everything.
