Overall extremely average, would have been better if it was an entire movie that followed the baby and the monkey's as the protagonists. The animation was really clean and great, but the overall plot was just littered with holes. Things happened to simply force the plot along, rather than there actually be a logical reason for them to happen. The only character development found just seemed artificial with nothing really driving it.
Regardless, there just wasn't a lot of thought put into this movie story wise, but the baby and monkey's do make it somewhat watchable.
(Note: I understand the biggest focus of this movie was on representation of many cultures, which from my small understanding, they seemed to have done well, but my focus is on the story as a whole)
*MAJOR SPOILER WARNING*
How they defeat the darkness monsters made sense, the entire movie was set up from the beginning that they all needed to come together to defeat it, but why did using it's power bring back the other dragons? If stopping the monsters in the past didn't free them from the stone, how does it free them now. And if we were to apply the same logic that made the dragons stay statues, why didn't Raya and her friends stay statues? Also, how were the dragons able to bring Sisu back to life with the powers like the ability to make it rain, being able to glow, etc.? None of this made sense.
It also doesn't make sense why the tribes took away pieces of the orb in the first place. The orb itself I understand, but if breaking it set it loose, why did none of them think that putting it back together was the only solution. I'm pretty sure everyone would have rather chosen to defeat the enemy over holding a shiny glowing rock that was pretty much useless if it wasn't being held directly in front of the enemy.
