If you're here for bedazzled costumes and slow-mo dramatics, sure, you'll be entertained. But if you're looking for actual historical integrity or fair representation of Muslim figures, walk away while your IQ is still intact.
This film isn’t history it’s fanfiction with a budget.
It takes Alauddin Khilji, a complex and strategic ruler with major contributions to architecture, military reforms, and administration—and turns him into a slobbering villain whose only motivation is “lust for a Hindu queen.”
Like bro, where's the nuance? Where’s the reality?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali turned a centuries-old allegorical poem into a full-blown propaganda piece. It glorifies Rajputs (even when they’re losing) and demonizes Muslims using every lazy, stereotypical trope: barbaric, lustful, power-hungry, rule-breakers.
And just when you think it can’t get any more obvious, they slap an "Allahu Akbar" on the villain’s lips for maximum damage.
This film isn’t art!!it’s aestheticized bias.
I’m a proud viewer who values truth, and I’m tired of cinema packaging prejudice as poetry. History deserves better than this!!
