I went into this film expecting an amazing, atmospheric, tension-building horror movie where I could come out with different theories and thoughts and have an in-depth conversation about it with my husband (as we usually do). Instead, we came out sorely disappointed.
Don't get me wrong, it was great, but it was nearly 3 hours of incredibly predictable jumpscares. Something scary going on? Scene suddenly goes silent? Jumpscare incoming. There was honestly only one moment that freaked me out a little (head-bang head-bang, you'll know it if you've seen it), but even that ended super predictably.
There was one moment that was visually incredible however (sudden-arm-drop and eyes rolling) that was honestly the highlight of the movie because it made us both go "Oh, s***!" but the whole movie could have easily been broken down and made more tense rather than constant-ear-drum-explosions.
I'd give it about 6/10 as opposed to its counterpart (Chapter 1) which would definitely be a 10/10.
