I will open and say that I am a loyalist when it comes to source material. I feel very strongly when I book to screen adaptations happen. Some of been well, a few exceedingly well, but most are meh, at best. It absolutely breaks my heart at how far this series is straying from the source material. I have been hoping and waiting with anticipation for decades for this book to be made in to a series, as there are so many stories to tell. I have no complaints with the actors; they should be proud of the work they have out forth. The scripting is depressing at best. This version of Rowan is so far off the mark, you can only claim they are the same character because they share the same name. And unfortunately, this version of Rowan is tainting the entire series. I want to love this show. I am still watching, hoping it can recover, but I would not recommend this series to anyone who has read the books.
