I wanted to give this novel 5 stars, but for what may seem an odd reason, I'm only giving it 4. First, the novel is wonderful. It is a well paced and layered satire. After having read The Trees I had high hopes for Erasure and it met my expectations.
My issue, however, is with the layout and print quality. The font is so small that it made reading it rather uncomfortable. The use of the italicized font in certain passages made it even more difficult to read, so much so that I skipped the italicized text altogether during my first reading. I didn't enjoy the actual process of reading this book because it was indeed just that, a process.
