This book is a must read! It takes you on a fabulous ride and is full of laugh out loud, gut busting moments. I would take this book on the subway and there was not one day that passed without someone telling me that I was reading a great book, or that they loved Deacon King Kong. Highly recommend!

I wanted to give this novel 5 stars, but for what may seem an odd reason, I'm only giving it 4. First, the novel is wonderful. It is a well paced and layered satire. After having read The Trees I had high hopes for Erasure and it met my expectations. My issue, however, is with the layout and print quality. The font is so small that it made reading it rather uncomfortable. The use of the italicized font in certain passages made it even more difficult to read, so much so that I skipped the italicized text altogether during my first reading. I didn't enjoy the actual process of reading this book because it was indeed just that, a process.

An utterly captivating and terribly heartbreaking novel. I believe this was Baldwin at his best.

Amor Towles "The Lincoln Highway" is a fast-paced, cleverly written novel. I was apprehensive about reading this novel because while I found "A Gentleman in Moscow" to be a compelling read, it tended to be pedantic. TLH is the complete opposite, with beautiful, depictive writing that captivated me from the opening sentence. A few people have complained about the ending, but I found it a fitting end and a cautionary tale about greed. I HIGHLY recommend this novel.
