I loved the movie. Riveting, exciting and emotional. Nicole Kidman gives an electrifying performance that surpasses everything she's ever done before. Yes, they went a bit too far with the makeup and costume - she constantly has dirty smudges on her face and her clothes look like they've never been washed. But look beneath the externals and you will be rewarded. Kidman manages to find the soul and the few emotions remaining in this emotionally dead character. I honestly cannot understand the negative posts for this film. What movie did they watch and what were they expecting to see? I urge people to view this film for themselves. Don't go in with pre-conceived expectations. Just let the storyline, the action and the tragic main character involve and move you.
