We waited almost 15 years for non stop “what’s?” “Why’s? And thee most amounts of “How’s?!” And “WTF’s?!” I’ve ever experienced in an addition to a long lived series. This game is absolute trash hands down. If you want a game that cheats right in front of your face and goes by its own rules when it feels like it then this is the game for you. If you want a game that is going to constantly annoy you by putting you in absolutely irritating situations and circumstances this is the game for you. The AI will play cities next to yours while they are sitting on an entire vacant subcontinent of their own. The crisis mode thing is the worst thing ever to be in base game instead of a game mode. Happiness and war wariness doesn’t effect the AI at all and the can constantly be at war and their yields aren’t effected at all but yours plummet so even if they declare war on you for no reason “which they love to do” your yields are dramatically dropped while everyone else’s seem to continue growing leaving you behind. This is the most punishing game I’ve ever played and I’ve wasted days of my life reloading previous saves or completely abandoning hours if not days worth of playing time. The “ERA’s” thing makes you miss out on large gaps of time and also make you start over which is absolutely stupid. Also the game ends very abruptly and early. No more “one more turn” so after hours or days playing it’s just done. It’s so sad how they were so close, but then messed everything up in the most dumbest of ways. I want my money back or I am trash talking this game every single chance I get. Who ever thought this should have been released like this should be FIRED.
