True Detective meets American Beauty in an LDS community. Brilliant story, outstanding performances and attention to detail that is second to none. I knew nothing of the LDS faith and feel it was a wonderfully told story done with grace and intrigue, drawing you in revealing the woven storylines each episode leaving you wanting to know more. The inner conflict was great and time pressure a great device however my only criticism is that at times it wasn’t clear or easy to follow the multiple timelines as they cut back and forth. This may have been to display the relevance of how the old was present in the modern day but I would’ve preferred to not be brought out of the story. 10/10. Would continue watching further seasons of this partnership or others.
