Joker: Folie à Deux
Rightfully hated or tragically misunderstood?
The movie should have been titled something along the lines of Arthur Fleck: Not so Joker. This was a beautifully directed film portraying the story of Arthur Fleck and the intense duality of his psyche. Unlike most movies surrounding Joker, this movie should be entered into with a blank canvas rather than the expectation of seeing the Joker we all know and love. The film intensely tells the story of Arthur and the persona that is the Joker in a way that truly encapsulates your heart.
The musical elements of the film feel awkward at first but quickly grows on you. The joker is, after all, a performer with an artistic character so the musicality naturally fits the role.
All in all, a great film that definitely deserves more credit than it has received.
