Refuse to give it high rating as don’t want to support the organization. Documentary was entertaining and eye-opening. It did a great job revealing the brutally toxic environment. So much gaslighting. To an outsider of dance and cheerleading, it’s incredibly easy to see the cult-like behaviour of following a master blindly, risking your health, and getting zero recognition or little compensation. BUT BEING MADE to believe they were given a special opportunity. Why does the organization feel entitled to ruin these girls bodies and mental health just so the men folk can sexualize them. Acting like this is normal and justified boggles me. This isn’t acceptable anymore and their core values and beliefs doesn’t age well.
The athletics and discipline is commendable. So much talent better used elsewhere than an organization who exploits them and fails to protect them.
Dallas Cowboys should be ashamed! The athletes need to understand their worth and stand up for it! These dancers have brought them expertise and technical talent over years of training. The choreographer sure as hell isn’t.
