I’m already a Sittenfeld fan, but I wasn’t prepared for the impact Rodham would have on me. Age-wise, Hillary and I are in the same cohort and have lived through the same cultural and world events. But, as highly educated women boomers we have even more in common. I could be reading about my own life if I had walked away from damaging relationships, and been more fearless in my choices. I put off reading this for fear it would be “hard” emotionally to read, but so glad I finally did. I am terribly moved by its representation of the sacrifices women make to break the glass ceilings, and the nasty traps set for women who go too far and expect too much. Great Book, Curtis Sittenfeld! Thank you! Please keep them coming.
