This is not a romcom, it's a tragedy. I didn't realize until reading other reviews that this was a remake of the years old Anne Hathaway movie, which I also hated the ending of. I have a friend who has ruined his life and brain with drugs and alcohol. And I lost my mother and a brother in a family auto accident when I was 8 years old. Why is substance abuse and heartbreaking loss considered entertainment. I hated the self destructive Dex behavior, and never really connected with Emma, whose character was constantly shallow rather than than having any interesting depth to it. If you haven't watched it yet, don't bother.
