SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THEATERS! To truly experience the magic of any production, you need to be immersed in it. Some of the low reviews I see are people saying they were bored and more interested in something else going on, but isn’t that everyone’s default setting at home: easily distracted? My sister and I watched this the same night in different homes and she said it was stupid while I loved it. The next night, we watched it with my brother, who can be a harsh critic. Both my brother and sister ended up loving it! My sister admitted she had been talking with my two teenage nieces through most of it and wasn’t fully paying attention. But when we all were focused only on the movie with no distractions, we stopped being critics and allowed ourselves to be… ✨enchanted.✨

If Lydia Bennet were a Gen Z, this is just the sort of production she would have put together with somebody else’s story, borrowed money, and self-inflated entitlements. She would then have declared it sensational, unique, and delightful to counter all us peasant-critics who don’t like that she took a story we related to so much and made it so unrelatable.
