Very hard to describe as its sort of a dark comedy, but not really. Its more of a soap opera, as its mostly about the characters and their emotional journeys. Although most are not immediately likeable, you do grow to have feelings for each of them throughout as they sometimes make horrible and sometimes surprisingly touching decisions. I found myself cheering for most of them by the end. Although there are hints early on, despite all the mildly humorous goings on at the villa, things get really crazy once the outside world succumbing to the madness of the plague starts to really intrude and from there it does lose its way a bit, but not its heart. There are very very dark moments starkly contrasted with lightly sexual escapades, so its not really for children or people with limited vision.
