I love documentaries and have seen countless over the years. Many have been brilliant but none have matched this one. If you want to watch a positive and incredibly uplifting true story, look no further. The skill and bravery of the rescuers combined with the bravery of the young boys makes it compulsive viewing. A brilliant documentary.

Has to be one of the best WW2 naval films I’ve seen. The tension throughout was at fever pitch and you got an appreciation of the anxiety and skill of the navy when trying to protect these convoys. Although there were no scenes shot on any of the merchant ships, you could only imagine the terror those seamen faced on those very slow and highly explosive vessels. The bravery of all those in the merchant navy during wartime is up there with all the armed forces.

We never miss an episode but tonight, I almost switched it off as Richard really annoyed me. Mark Chapman failed to get his question right and it was answered by Kaye Adams. In this round, no points are awarded to the opponents if they answer it correctly but because the girls asked him to, he awarded them both 1 point. When the identical scenario happened a moment later, Mark answered the girl’s question correctly but he didn’t award the boys a point. Mark went on to lose to Kaye by 1 point. Richard, you need to play fairly otherwise what’s the point
