Each episode is a totally fascinating look at the lives of people within the confines of a strict religious code in modern Jerusalem. I am not personally familiar with those living in such a sect of Judaism, but it is not as I expected. Perhaps their lives are analogous to the Amish communities in America.
I look forward to each episode and I am grateful that I have not seen portrayed in SHTISEL the physical violence that is so common in entertainment, produced both in the U.S. and abroad. The captions are very easy to read, which is not always the case. However, the dialogue is sometimes at a pace faster than what I can read.
Thanks to all involved in its production and transmission!
