I am a huge fan of the book and the series is such an incredible let down I don't have words. I'm not one of those people that says because it's not like the book it's bad. It's simply bad because it's bad. The character development is stagnant and uninteresting the plot development is non existent, The background is background is overdone in places that is unneeded and explanations are unclear. Even knowing what the story was I'm still not sure I follow the TV show. I love inclusion and I'm all for diversity, but this series is woke for the sake of being woke at the expense of the story and the visuals. I hope the stop here and remake a good tv adaptation later when they have a director and producer that actually care about the series and not simply trying to make wheel of time into a game of thrones clone. Amazon should be ashamed, and so should the director.

This is one of the worst tales games in the series. I am actually confused as to why I get so many good reviews. I am not a troll who just likes to rag on things. I generally don't even leave reviews. I thought the gameplay was stellar, the fighting was a great step up from previous games but the healing mechanics in the game were broken and difficult to the point where you can't really play the game efficiently without buying money to buy healing items. The AI for the other characters is kind of dumb and I beat the entire last level and the Boss by simply taking control of the magic user and spamming light spells. The story is what really kills me. This is a role-playing game. That means you need to get me to like the characters and the story, a job which this game completely failed at. The characters are preachy and stupid oftentimes letting bad guys go so that they can get screwed an hour later. They do this multiple times and never seem to learn. The bad guys are either completely irredeemably evil, horrible because of their complete indifference to human suffering or just confusing. There does not seem to be a single villain in the game that is effective as a foil. I have played 10 Tails games at minimum and have always played a new game plus afterwards because I found something about the series that I enjoyed. This will be the first one I don't. I write this review not to be mean or seek a platform to voice unreasoned criticism but to hopefully allow others to not make the mistake that I did in purchasing this game. I hope that future Tales games can take the good parts from this and remember the core of what made them great. This game has certainly failed. It does not deserve the ratings nor does it deserve the critical success that it seems to have.
