It was brilliant. It's too bad so many reviewers in the arse-kissing "Reviewer's Club" didn't get it but actually, they probably did, it's just that they go through these juvenile phases where they like to gang up on a production just because they CAN and since they're shameless arse-kissers who write for EACH OTHER and not for the public, they never want to risk alienating the others in their "Club" so they parrot each other.
This film captures that tumultuous period in the film industry between the Silents and the Talkies perfectly and all the Lead Actors were fabulous, Margot Robbie, in particular, in the Clara Bowesque role.
If you've never read a biography of Bow, you wouldn't understand.
Make it a point to see this film.
