It's one of the most heartbreaking and amazing books I've ever read. Imaculee's triumph against all odds, living in a bathroom with 7 or 8 other women for 90 days, and the darkness of Rwanda's most tragic genocide left me speechless. And just reading about the politicized issues that lead to this massive tragedy is a frightening reminder of how things can go so horribly wrong when people listen to corrupt leaders.
It's also a beautiful story of how faith healed her and kept her hope alive through her darkest hours. It's also a story of forgiveness. Her whole family was slaughtered and yet she found the grace in her heart to forgive. I'm not sure that I would be able to do that.
