I too had never watched a TV episode, but had a friend who was a big writer, was funny, and he told me he was writing for the show. My thought? He's doing it for the money. I ignored the show. On Saturday I accidentally bought a ticket for this movie thinking it was Top Gun. So when it started I was pissed. And then decided I'd give it a go. I'm a writer, they are writers, let's see what they got. And five minutes in I was sold, having fun with every line. Then the songs. Better than any Broadway dreck. Folks, this is a very good movie. Whether you know the series or not, you will not be disappointed. Very, very clever.
