Certainly one of Clint’s best films. Inspired by Revelation no The term “Pale Rider” is inspired by Revelation 6:8. This verse refers to one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who symbolize different forces of judgment or devastation unleashed upon the earth. “I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.”

This isn’t a 5 star film imo. My biggest gripe is Andy Devine. John Ford allows him to play the fool just about every second and I soon got sick of it. Second gripe is how the characters are played. Prejudice is too obvious and no shading. Thirdly y did Ford put 7 in a stage coach designed for 6 max. Y did ford cast a 400 lb dude? Good acting by most and a great climax. So 4 stars

Damn close to perfect. Minor complaints but I’m not listing them. Exciting and well made. No actor as good as Alan Rickman but no bad actors.

Rotten Tomatoes is way off base. This is an excellent film. Yes having Jeremy Irons as Balian would have been a far better choice but it’s still thrilling and thoughtful. Far better than the average movie

A very good film marred by horrible “acting “ by The Rock. My god how long has he been acting? 20 years? He hasn’t learned a thing about acting. He makes Arnold appear as the best actor that has ever lived

Not a totally bad movie but completely predictable. Good acting but not Oscar worthy either. Children might enjoy it more than adults

I’ve heard this film lost money; y?? This is an amazing and thrilling movie! A balanced look at the President by a liberal filmmaker. Tony Hopkins is brilliant in the title role.

The scene when Darth Vader kicks ass, is a modern masterpiece! A wonderful tragedy!

Great cast, fair story hurt badly by its length. An average film
