It's really not as bad as everyone is saying. I've been watching Part 1 and 2 over and over on a streaming site and I've come to appreciate the 2nd installment. The first one has a lot more character development and comedic relief. It's almost like you're hanging out with the girls in the first movie. You get to understand their relationships with each other and their own unique personalities. The second movie has no time for personalities. The characters are all generic, even Sarah. It was a reach to suggest that medical professionals would take someone back to a cave system while in such a bad mental state. There are lots of call-backs to the first movie in the second one, although the second one does clear things up a bit more. Especially between Sarah and Juno. The biggest plot twist of all is that in both movies, Juno knows the way out. If everyone just followed Juno from the start, they'd likely have lived. The second movie is pretty cool though. You spend a lot more time in the cave and you get to experience a myriad of different ways to die. Sarah and Juno have the mind of serial killers by then and you get to see the creature's toilet. I recommend giving the second movie a watch, maybe even multiple times, to see how clever the directing was. The star of the second movie is the creature thing. Don't get your hopes up about the acting because you barely know the people when they're alive and you still don't know them when they die. My favorite part of the second movie is the very last shot. I literally laugh before the credits. It makes me smile.
