This movie is brilliant! I can't believe that it took me so long to see it. I am privileged to know a bit of the backstory and that makes it all the more powerful. The screenwriter/director, Paul Shoulberg, is the son of a priest and a nun. Yes, you read that correctly. His parents met and fell in love, honorably left their obligations to the church to get married and create a family. They had 3 children and lived their entire lives devoted to one another. Paul's beloved father passed away shortly before I took his screenwriting class at Indiana University. He penned this as part of the grieving process and as a tribute to his late father. Paul took creative liberties....it's not a biography, but it is a deeply moving and thought provoking movie that has many laugh out loud moments. Perfectly casted and beautifully depicted unconventional love story.....and the best part....it is kind of, sort of, a true story. Loved it!!
