I'm still in the progress of this game, level 21 at the time of writing this. With the current state of video games being at is it (with early releases making some games un-playable), I would go as far as to say this game is a masterpiece. There is so much detail in the world and in the dialogue that the writing sometimes blows me away. This is a massively immersive experience. It reminds me of the vibe and atmosphere some games like Vampire Masquerade were shooting for, but did not have the graphical capacity at the time.
One of the most interesting tasks within the game is to make interactions with the NPCs, solving mysteries, closing dilemmas and conflicts between them, and making them healthier. Unlike most games where players commit to these acts in a pointless manner, for vampires, the healthier the person's blood, the more experience you may receive when you drink it. The draw to drink is great, as the game becomes wonderfully difficult if you fall behind in level.
At times, the enemies become redundant, but you don't have to fight every battle. There are some small errors here and there, and the combat is very rigid. If you're not looking for a talking simulator, this may not be the game you're looking for. However, after diving a few hours in, this game has grown on me and I am enjoying it very much. Quests are not overly complicated, and getting stuck wasting time is a rarity. But on the topic of wasting time, a fast travel system would have been extremely helpful, despite the small size of the play area, as back and forth travel is too necessary.
