2 stars because it’s playable. But this is easily the worst AC game in my opinion. It’s so boring, I don’t like Basim (because of Valhalla). The characters are so stiff and uninteresting. I found myself skipping cutscenes because they were so dull. I just found myself not really caring about the story and playing just to finish it to get my moneys worth. Very glad I bought it secondhand. Graphics were decent and locations were fairly interesting. The whole ‘back to its assassins creed roots’ thing is dumb, this game sucks.

Best video game I’ve ever played. I wish there were more instalments to be honest. Kassandra is my favourite character I’ve ever played as, the setting of Ancient Greece was phenomenal and I spend hours just walking around admiring everything. I’ve been to Greece tons of times but the first time going to Athens and Delphi after playing this was fantastic as the creators recreated the locations so well that I looked at the ruins in a totally different way. I have replayed this game start to finish so many times and will continue to do so as it just brings me so much more enjoyment. It is slightly different to other AC games but I loved that tbh, I’ve played every AC game since the first one was released and I enjoyed them all. But I felt like this stood on its own and could have been a game separate from AC as it was miles more fun and impressive than any other game in the franchise. I understand how it fits into the lore but the the AC lore doesn’t interest me. I just love historic games where I get to explore historic places and sword fight! I really enjoyed choosing between 2 characters, I tried playing as Alexios once and hated it, but I appreciate that others have the choice to play as him and we all get slightly different experiences, I also very much enjoy that my choices effect the storyline, it adds to the immersion for me. I’ll live in hope of another game with Kassandra and Ancient Greece being released but until then I’ll play Odyssey again
