As an Anglo-Francophile, this left me cold. How could they make Versailles so… dull. I did not see Benjamin Franklin, only Michael Douglas pretending. He’s a great actor, but way too sexy for Benjamin Franklin. The whole thing is creepy.

Great ride, satisfying ending. It would not have detracted at all to have been more authentic to reality where the Manson side story resided. The girls were friendlier, animal cruelty would not have happened (rat in trap)... the way the family actually was, is in fact creepier than the dead eyed zombies in the film. Would have liked to have seen the Cielo house more actual in terms of layout and decor. The fantasy side of the film could have meshed very well with historical accuracy of the actual horror.
