The movie is painfully slow. It follows and glorifies (what they want you to believe are) four intrepid, hard charging journalist. The media has a very low approval rating in the US. And with good reason.
The journalist in the movie have no redeeming qualities. And there is zero explanation of what led up to the civil war besides a few lines in passing about the president’s “third term” and how he “dismantled the FBI.” (The president is Trump hint hint).
Sprinkle in some rogue, racist armed groups that are killing minorities and you have your red meat/dog whistle for all the deranged liberals out there.
In addition, the fact that they find the president in the Oval Office at the end is completely unrealistic. They have bunkers and underground tunnels that would allow them to escape the White House.
The only thing that’s makes a little sense is the union of California and Texas. Even though it doesn’t seem plausible politically at present time. However, these states have the highest populations and biggest economies. And undoubtedly have the largest national guard troop presence and military hardware.
Bottom line is that the media is mostly responsible for the division in this country. As they deceive the public, and collaborate with and cover up the government’s treasonous activities. So let’s not make them the heroes of any civil war in America.
