I read "Soap Bubbles" over 60 years ago. I still remember the main ideas. All bubbles have a simple structure, even when they "stick" together. The vertices where two bubbles meet? No more than three bubbles. Why does a drop of water have that little neck just before it falls? This is a book of lectures presented by C V Boys in a series for young people. (Consider the title of the lecture series: "Romance of Science".) Easy to understand, and to this day has sparked fascination and wonder in me about bubbles and surface tension. This is the book that probably more than anything pointed me towards science and physics.

I just watched The Graduate as again, 52 years later. Filmed just before the Age of Hippie, the only thing dating the story is telephones with wires and phonebooths. Other than that the whole movie - love story, commentary on relationships, and comedy shows no dating/"Last Century" feel. Yes, timeless!
