Wonder Woman 1984 is atrocious. It is tragically bad from top to bottom.
Gal Gadot’s acting is horrible. She is only convincing in the scenes where she is suave and collected. Any scene that requires the slightest bit of emotional range causes her acting to fall apart completely.
The plot is tragically convoluted. The dreamstone grants wishes but takes something away. Maxwell Lord wishes to become the dreamstone. So he can grant wishes and take something in return but loses his health. So he has to grant more wishes to gain more health even though granting wishes takes his health away. But then he stops because Wonder Woman reminds him he has a son. What?!?! Oh, and Cheetah just wants to be attractive.
Diana’s power set makes no sense. She has Sue Storm’s ability to make things invisible. They turned the lasso of truth into Spider-Man’s Webbing. She has one of Tony Stark’s suits of armor. And she’s a really good therapist. Lol. And the way they convey her power of flight is enraging.
Two out of three of the major fight scenes in the film are horribly choreographed. The Cairo highway chase and the final fight are terrible.
Pedro Pascal’s acting is horrific during the climax. If it weren’t for the Mandalorian, I would write him off as an actor.
Similar to the first film, Chris Pine is the movie’s singular highlight. He plays the man out of time bit very well.
It really feels like Patty Jenkins made this film up as she went along. It’s terrible.
The only good thing is that I didn’t have to pay to watch this.
