Perhaps one of the best movies of the decade. The way the director successfully obtains the feel of an uncut film is beautiful. The storytelling of the Great War was historically spot on. We need more storytelling like this, epic is to less of a word to describe the film. If you're looking for a Hollywood glorification of war, you won't find it here. You really feel like you are witnessing real time events of the poor young soldiers trapped in this world war. This is not for those seeking another Ranbo, but more for those who enjoyed Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan, if not arguably better that those films. It is not for the faint of hearted nor for the intellectually stumped. You will experience the honor and sacrifice of these two men. The director has done something spectacular, to say the least.
