Seems to be based on Stephen's own grandfather who invented the pager bleeper and provided hearing aids as well as audio loops for the hard of hearing in cold war times. As unlikely as this story is it's largely true. However the actors don't believe it and wander through it with no conviction at all. Expensive and unsatisfying drivel.
