No spoilers; simply gut reaction and a couple specific examples so you can have an idea
I don't like either scenario in this film. I wouldn't want the kid's life and I wouldn't want the camp kid's life. There's such a misery over this movie and i think it's because the film itself is based on a system of program.
The young girl is just living out here in this beautiful world. And they're trying to bring her through a program. Programs don't exist in the real world.
I'm warning that there's a heartbreaking clip in this movie that goes with the confiscation of a cassette tape.
"I'm guessing this doesn't praise the Lord"
First of all, do you know what praising the Lord looks like? Second, that cassette is hers and shouldn't be raised a brow at.
Jesus said, "It's not what goes into a person that defiles them. It's what comes out that defiles them"
God convicts spirits himself.
She's such a gentle spirit, alive and valuable.
The counselors whip out Sigmund Freud's iceberg analogy. We don't need counselors to be detectives. We need the living Spirit of God.
I didn't feel that the counselors in this movie let themselves focus on caring about Cameron Post. I felt they cared about end results and "doing their job" but not to God's standard. Since when do sports have gender identities? I don't know the science here, but they sure appear to be devoted to a hazy agenda. They wade. It's like they're trying to keep their heads above water, which in of itself is a suffering. They're not free.Freedom comes from caring about God, no nervousness, no paniced searching. They might care, but they gotta be abandoned, loosed and at peace, not relying on reports and methods.
The bible talks of a holy spirit that guides whoever asks. The heart needs to attach to the Holy Spirit.
About life, why don't we ask God directly? Enough of this middle man stuff. The human life is never to be dissected and controlled by people.
