It was boring. At least- that’s what I thought when I had finished only three episodes. It was slow and boring and I was kinda lost. Time skip to when the whole season had been released my dad is begging me to continue watching it and reluctantly I agree. Even though I had low expectations- it immediately got better. The visual effects, the characters, the dialogue (especially Luthen’s speech and Nemik’s manifesto which I would quote constantly) the soundtrack (every time I listen to it I’m on the verge of tears by how emotional it is) everything seemed to pick up (except for the pace, it was still a little slow) and I grew to absolutely love it. I understand how others might not like this show (heck, they might despise it) but it’s crucial to understand that this is more grounded than other Star Wars stories. The concept that interested me was how it was about the small people. The ones you don’t remember in history, yet still just as important and essential as everything else. This was a beautiful story about sacrifice, oppression, rebellion, and ultimately hope. Because even though the enemy may seem so incredibly huge, we still have to try. There’s only one way out. This is a story that brought me to tears, and for others maybe not. But please, just give this show a chance and appreciate it for what it does right. (Also getting really hyped for season 2 since the writers actually listen to their audience and identify what they did wrong and try to improve)
