After only 5 minutes of watching, I realized something wasn’t sitting well with me. It was as if I was watching a high-prod play or reading a book (very one-dimentional, is that even a thing?) but not in a good way. It was so cringey but I couldn’t pin point what was actually putting off. I can forgive the badly written dialogue, the forced acting and fake tone of voice, or the accent of the characters which was all over the place. Then I noticed that it lacked camera angles which is why it felt FLAT. So many things happening in a single frame, side conversations that I don’t know if I’m supposed to focus on, and no multiple or alternating close ups from different characters. It seemed simple yet chaotic at the same time.
I had high expectation for this film. I was literally so excited because it has one of the best cast ensemble and it’s about a Viking legend. It had so much potential but got ruined by bad screenplay and film directing.
