As an expert on psychology and parenting, I would give both the website and the program a zero. James Lehman is an adultist with very outdated views. YES you can be friends with your children YES children respond to reasoning, YES negotiation is a good thing and NO not all teens are involved in illegal behaviour NO most teens are not entitled or insensible and NO these so called effective consequences are punitive and damaging, coming from an expert. Check out conscious, positive parenting. Even the total transformation program has ran out of popularity, so has the website, they've stopped posting. Would not reccomend it to anyone. Look up taking children seriously. Look up quora and Reddit other people have criticised this website including licensed social workers it just stigmatises young people and pushes authoritarian parenting.
