Ever since I saw the first episode of the Patriot Act (after much reluctance), I have been hooked to the show and Hasan is the most prominent reason for it. His fluidity, his flow, his rhythm, his intonation, his delivery, his body language is just so perfect that it is sometimes hard to believe that someone could be so flawless. But he is and this show is the epitome of it. Through a meticulously crafted, extremely engaging comedy special (with lighting that perfectly compliments the delivery and large stage area which he satisfyingly cover throughout the show), he takes us on an emotional roller-coster and spews out facts that hit so close to home. It was like watching an intense movie that cheers you at the moment and then hits you with the suspense at the other, slapping those taboo facts on the face of hypocrisy. There are so many issues that he touches upon starting from his childhood and his parents moving to America, sibling dynamics, growing up as an immigrant kid where your lineage becomes the cause of concern and him growing out of that quagmire to ultimately acquire those hard-learned virtues of adulthood that makes him a deserving person for the pedestal he stands on today. This was a fantastic show and I am so glad that I decided to go for it after watching the preview on Netflix.
