I’m very impressed by the cast and the way they portrayed their characters. The cinematography was also excellent. The inherent failure of this production is the writers didn’t have a plan to continue the story in season two and beyond and since the source material consisted of one excellent PKD novel and his notes for a follow up, they had to backfill. Now, could this problem be solved? Yes. After Amazon gets their investment back on the original material, they could come out with a newly edited “Director’s Cut” which takes some of those excellent Season 4 scenes showing how John Smith and his wife slowly followed the course that led to them being the people she didn’t want her alt-Earth son Thomas to ever know. Add in a bit more back material showing how the America of their universe got in the situation that allowed the Nazi’s to get the A-Bomb first and maybe something to flesh out the early backstory of the Man in the High Castle and how he first started collecting and receiving the film canisters, and you’ve got a classic for all times.
