ugh. just awful. thankfully i bailed halfway through a nearly 3 hour movie

worst war movie of all time. more than half the movie is a bad teen movie romance story. the acting is terrible all around. unrealistic, even laughable, war scenes. inappropriate music. the soldiers after battle look as if they just came out of a hair stylist appointment, squeaky clean. there is a parade to honor the main character. 100,000 people are there, yet his own wife manages to show up late to the funeral and misses the entire affair. she literally acts as if she knew nothing about it.

so bad i even want the money back i spent on popcorn.

one of the worst war movies ever made. disjointed and meandering without meaning. and the music! non-stop violins and i do mean non-stop. i don't believe there is one second without violins. made the movie entirely unwatchable. oh, i almost forgot. every single soldier who jumped off sinking ships (and there were a thousand) jumped in full battle gear. boots, helmets, backpacks . the works. even ten minutes after a ship started going dow. are you telling me that it didn't occur to a single soldier that stripping down 50 lbs of gear might make it easier to swim? preposterous.
