If you liked dead island, and riptide, you'll love this game probably. The story in the main game isn't the best, and not to spoil it, the last boss fight is extremely disappointing. At least for me, its short, and some spoiler.. it's a quick time event. The game itself is a parkour zombie killing amusement park of fun, and gore. It's been quite a few years actually, and they released a whole thing of amazing free dlc, they have an phone companion game that let's you play it, and then earn random crafting items and what not in the main game. You have special dockets you redeem ingame for cool items depending on the docket. Some include unique skins for weapons, and unique weapons that are legendary. I haven't played too much multiplayer, but from what I have, I had a blast! Only problem is finding a match that was balanced last time I played online. They also have all the paid dlc in a bundle, and you can usually get the bundle in a good deal during some sales. The expansion dlc to the country side is a large improvement on the main game. The story felt a little better, but still again, one of the weakee points to me. Gameplay though is extremely fun when you get the hang of it in both the main and dlc story modes, I've best both more than once, and still play every so often just to kill zombies with all my legendaries, and uniques. Another thing this game does well is Easter eggs, oh boy. Some are weapons, one is a one shot weapon to use that levitates zombies if I remember correctly, crazy stuff. You even have.. a chick on a stick. But the game itself, like dead island, has mutating zombie types, but many more variants, and many more weapons and such. Although a big fail for me is the inventory system, your bag has a well done system for outfits, but I would've liked to have organized my guns, and such into columns, or categories. Something better than everything is just shoved in the bag willy Billy, mixed and matched, especially when you've played long enough to have at least 50 or so weapons. Weapon mods are aplenty, and the crafting is a much better upgrade than the dead island one. You can also climb too! The characters admittedly got me didnt stick, and died too soon for me to care, and felt pretty cheap, crane being the only one I care about at all. I'm sure I missed a few things, bit overall, if you can get this game its definitely worth any price now that it's been the awhile and is pretty complete especially with the second coming out, and continued support of this one.
Oh yeah! I forgot! I downloaded both soundtracks, as they are some of the best I've heard since Ratchet and Clank on the ps2, or Halo Reach.
